Lana's Dance Special Needs program, Super Stars, is a unique way for students with Down Syndrome, Autism, and other developmental disabilities to explore movement and understand how their bodies work! Its a great way for children to get involved in an extracurricular activity while improving motor skills, confidence and socialization skills. Students will learn the basics of movement, rhythm, spacial awareness and the fundamentals of tap and jazz through the use of simple patterns, sequencing and repition! With the option of assistance from parents, this class is also an amazing way for some bonding time that will foster an enthusiasm for dance as part of your family's everyday life! Parent participation is not mandatory but a per case basis.
*Due to being in close proximity with other students and teachers, students should not be in a medically fragile state (i.e. feeding tubes, etc.). The class is designed for students who have been diagnosed with Down Syndrome, are on the Autism spectrum or have other developmental delays, however if you feel your child would benefit from this class please do not hesitate to contact us! |
